Tapping into the paradoxes of the female experience - rage and vulnerability, power and self-doubt, desire and destruction - “Rude” embraces the contradictions that come with living in a body and mind constantly policed by our patriarchal society. Inspired by the Sylvia Plath fig tree metaphor, it voices the hunger to be everything all at once, even when it feels impossible.
