Greetings misfits, freaks and ne’er-do-wells!

The Fuzztones Italy tour in May was a resounding success, with packed houses every night.

To top it all off, key teaser/crowd pleaser, the Fox on the Vox - Lana Loveland - made a rare return to the stage just for this tour as did bassist Pablo Rodas (Cherrie Curry/Bellrays), who has played with The Fuzztones and Link Protrudi & the Jaymen on-and-off for the last few years.

Audiences were treated to Fuzz favourites as well as the brand new soon-to-be classic, “Strange Mysterious Sound.”

Meanwhile Rudi’s solo acoustic album, Rudi Protrudi - Folksinger”  is now available on Israel’s Black Gold label, and the newly remastered re-release of the Tina Peel “Pajama Party” is now available on Easy Action.

Rudi and Marco have been keeping busy producing new backing tracks for legendary rock performers - a project Cleopatra Records has initiated. So far they’ve finished backing tracks for Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Ann Margret, The Association, Grass Roots, Blue Cheer, Mark Lindsay, Clarence “Frogman” Henry, and Junior Wells. All can be found on YouTube.

Meanwhile Italy’s Area Pirata label plans to release “The Fuzztones - Live at the Dive ’85” in October. This rare recording features The Fuzztones’ last performance at the now legendary Dive club in NYC - the one venue that catered specifically to NY’s Garage scene, as well as the last performance ever before the club closed. It was also the second to last NY performance before the band embarked on their legendary first European tour as (predominantly) opening act for The Damned. To top it off, this recording features the one-and-only time the band performed “Run Better Rub” by the Cheapskates and “Help You Ann” by the Lyres, as well as one of the very few times they played “She Told Me Lies” by the Chesterfield Kings. The album also features the Lysergic line-up’s versions of “It Came In The Mail,” and “One Girl Man,” later-to-be-recorded by the In Heat line-up. The final cherry on top is a live version of Terry Knight and the Pack’s “Numbers,” which, again, was only ever played out once - at this show!

We’ve saved the biggest news flash for last….

The Fuzztones will be the subject of a new documentary! Filmmaker Danny Garcia (Chip Baker Films) has already begun interviewing former band members and celebrities for this feature. His illustrious career includes documentaries on Stiv Bators, Johnny Thunders, The Clash, Sid Vicious, Max’s Kansas City and the Chelsea Hotel!!!!

Before we close, let us remind you about our Bandcamp page, where you can purchase digital Fuzztones (and related) tracks including rarities not found elsewhere: Bandcamp
