Fresh off their explosive European and UK tour, boundary-pushing punk band Lady Lazarus return with their latest single, The Collector — a hard-hitting track inspired by John Fowles’ 1963 psychological thriller of the same name.

Fowles’ novel tells the disturbing story of a man who collects butterflies—until he decides to “collect” a woman instead. Lady Lazarus transform this narrative into a biting metaphor for the way patriarchal control and objectification persist in modern society.

The Collector is about the quiet violence of observation, control, and entitlement. It’s about how often women and non-men are treated not as people, but as possessions.
